Splendidly designed by Greg Norman, The Eastern golf course, located in Victoria‘s breathtaking Yarra Valley, is tremendously playable for golfers of all levels. There are multiple tees to choose from, the fairways are quite generous and the the greens are invitingly large. However, the key to scoring well here is to carefully land your tee shot on the section of fairway that will give you the best angle of approach to the green. This masterful course design at The Eastern provides plenty of opportunities for golfers of a lesser ability while still providing a great challenge for the more accomplished.
The Eastern golf course has 27 holes that offers three 18 hole layouts – the South, the North and the East. There’s also a great 9 hole par 3 course that is titled “Shark Waters” on the property. All playing surface here at first-class and you can definitely notice the course care and attention to detail that this private golf club provides.
With so many candidates to choose from, including the 9th, 17th, 18th 21st & 24th, us here at GolfAway select The Eastern golf course signature hole to be the stunning 188 metre par three 13th. On first glance this hole can look intimidating with a large expanse of water and a massive bunker placed menacingly at the front left of the putting surface. But in your favour is a generously sized green and bailout choices short right and long right of the target. As with many holes at The Eastern golf course they can look difficult but are so joyous to play.
