PLAY Tamworth Golf Course
“Terrific tree-lined country course to play at the Tamworth Golf Club.”
Located close to the centre of town, the charming Tamworth Golf Course is an engaging and tight layout with five par 3’s, 10 par 4’s and three par 5’s. Set out on a triangle shaped property, surrounded by city roads, all fairways are bordered by a large variety of mature trees that change beautifully in each season. The mid-sized greens are well manicured and have subtle gradients that make putting quite enjoyable.
With some great contenders that include the par three 5th, and the long par five 8th, all of us here at GolfAway select the challenging 390 metre par four 11th as Tamworth golf course’s signature hole. With OOB over the trees on the right, a large dam on the left and a solitary tall tree in the middle of the fairway for the longer hitters, this tee shot is quite demanding. Finding the fairway leaves you with a mid to long approach shot, through a narrow opening to a bunker-less, long, narrow green. Par here is an awesome achievement!
