“Be greeted by first-class greens and exquisite fairways when you play Federal golf course.”

Playing Federal Golf Club’s celebrated 18 hole championship course will provide you with every chance to reach the peak of your game. The golf course is so well designed and maintained that when you stand over your ball you will have the best possible chance to strike truly. The tee off areas are large and flat, the Santa Ana couch fairways are remarkable and the high quality bent grass greens will have the golf ball running true on every putt.

Federal’s golfing layout meanders around Canberra’s gently rolling hills. This provides many slight variations in lie angles which can challenge even the most gifted golfer. The property has marvellous views toward the Brindabella Ranges and seems to have just the right amount of strategically placed bunkers and a few ponds/lakes to avoid.

While there are a number of contenders, including the fun par five 7th, us here at GolfAway select the intimidating 197 metre par three 12th as Federal golf course’s signature hole. It’s still quite a challenge from the closer tees with the white marker at 180 metres and the red marker at 150. An accurate downhill tee shot is required to land on the rather large, elevated, diamond shaped green. There is only one bunker guarding the front right while the rest of the green has plenty of swales to repel you golf ball. With the green sloping from back to front the tip here is to leave yourself below the pin with an uphill putt. Par here is a great score!
