Located near Lilydale, at the southern end of Victoria’s captivating Yarra Valley, Gardiners Run golf course offers a sensational golfing facility. The terrain is gently undulating, the pristine fairways are generous and the green complexes are enormous. Adding to the exquisite scenery these factors make playing Gardiners Run very user friendly and thoroughly enjoyable.
The design of the course give you a great sense of freedom to play your own style of game. However there are still many challenges dotted around the course. Water does come into play of some holes while others have blind shots over low rise ridges. Fairway positioning is key here to give yourself the best chance of an accurate approach to the green.
With many great holes to choose from including the beautiful par three 5th, us here at GolfAway select the signature hole at Gardiners Run golf course to be the testing 380 metre par 4 18th. A well struck tee shot will have your ball disappearing over a ridge and down a slope to gain some extra distance. As with most holes on this course though position on the fairway is vital. Steering your drive to the left section of the fairway will give your ball more run and a better angle to the pin. The large, hourglass shaped green is surrounded by water on the left, right and rear. You also have to contend with a rather ominous looking bunker on the left. In our opinion the 18th at Gardiners Run is one of the finest finishing holes in Victoria.
