Recently updated with the assistance of the legendary Mike Clayton, the Yering Meadows golf course plays much more user friendly. Alterations have made the Ross Watson designed 27 hole course even more enjoyable while still providing a great challenge for the low handicappers. The beautifully flowing original design still remains as does Victoria‘s remarkable Yarra Valley vistas viewable from each an every hole.
Yering Meadows offers a great variety of golfing holes to play with 3 distinct sets of 9 holes providing 3 unique 18 holes combinations. The Nursery (holes 1-18), the Valley (holes 10-27) and the Homestead (holes 19-27 & 1-9) each have their own individual challenges with holes 19-27 having fewer water hazards.
GolfAway’s choice for signature hole at Yering Meadows golf course is unanimously the 497 metre par five 8th. This hole is a real stunner. From the tee there is water down the left, a slight dog-leg to the left and three bunkers on the right which are in play for the longer hitters. The second shot requires some decision making as the waterway continues up the left before crossing the fairway just short of the green. For most players this will leave a short approach shot over a large expanse of water. Great chance of birdie or an equally great chance of a rather large score on this very enjoyable golfing masterpiece.
