At Emerald Downs golf course Port Macquarie the great green fee prices are just the beginning. This beautiful, parklike golfing layout is one of the most entertaining courses you will find on the NSW Mid North Coast. With six par 3’s and four par 5’s the par 70 Emerald Downs give golfers of all abilities to score well.
There is a great variety of holes with some challenging even the finest golfer. The fairway widths vary greatly along with the size of the greens. Conditions at Emerald Downs have always been excellent each time GolfAway has visited with well maintained tees, fairways and greens.
With quite a few candidates to choose from, including the long par 3 water carry on the 18th, we believe the signature hole at Emerald Downs golf course is the beautifully designed 349 metre par four 17th. The narrow-ish fairway sweeps continuously around natural bushland to the left. With out of bounds to the right the shot shape required of the tee can be quite challenging. The approach to a mid-sized green favours a fade shot so as not to run over the back towards the water. Par or better here is a great score.
