Lovingly laid out amongst the naturally undulating coastal bushland the Caloundra Golf Course is a pleasure to play. The large smooth greens are a real highlight here as well as the large diversity of golfing holes. Ranging from flat straight fairways to undulating doglegs to water edged greens, Caloundra’s 18 hole layout will have you reaching for every club in your bag. And some of the vistas are just as spectacular as the golfing experience.
The par 71 course consists of four par 5’s, nine par 4’s and an extra chance to bag that elusive hole-in-one on one of the five par 3’s. With many wonderful nominees for Caloundra Golf Course’s signature hole us here at GolfAway have selected the 385 metre par four 4th. The tee shot is a real risk versus reward decision with a fairway that curves to the left around a rather large picturesque lake. Any drive directed to the right of the fairway will find some lush native bushland. A perfect drive will give you a shorter approach shot to the green which is bordered by bunkers on the left and front right. The 4th is a great hole and a birdie here is extremely rewarding.
